Solutions for High Blood Pressure
Breathing Techniques: To understand the importance of breathing and the impact on your body and mind, you must first understand what the breath is and how it works.
The Breath
Most of us never take the time to notice our breathing patterns. If we paid attention, we would notice some very important habits that can lead to many problems. For the breath is the link between the body and the mind.
The breath is the carrier of our emotions. When we are stressed, we tend to hold our breath. Notice the next time you are in a stressful situation - most likely you are holding your breath. Breath holding reinforces these stresses. Now try expanding your breath and breathing long and diaphragmatically when you are feeling stressed. This will greatly minimized the effect on your mind and body and allow the tension to leave your muscles.
Breathing Exercises
Knowing that the breath has an effect on the physical body, it is then possible to do specific exercises that aim to release tension from the body, specifically the nervous and circulatory system. High blood pressure simply means there is too much tension in the body. Learning to expand the breath can dramatically help high blood pressure.
