What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a system of medicine that prescribes a course of therapy based upon matching the patient's symptoms to a substance in nature known to cause similar sufferings in toxic doses. Samuel Hahnemann of Germany invented homeopathy in 1790. He coined the word, "homeopathy" to mean "similar sufferings." This is taken from the Latin phrase Similibus Simillum Curenta - meaning: "let likes be cured by likes."
By knowing the toxic effects of an herb, mineral or animal fluid, homeopaths can then turn that substance into a homeopathic remedy which will then have the direct opposite effect. And because of the manner in which homeopathic remedies are made, there will be no side effects, no adverse reactions. They have been used for over 200 years in a strict and highly documented manner.

Are there any common items that interfere with the effectiveness of Homeopathic Remedies?
The effectiveness of homeopathic remedies may last long after the remedy itself has been stopped. There are many common household items that may disrupt the action of the remedy. These substances should be avoided during the time a remedy is being taken and for several months afterward. Do your best to avoid the following items:
Coffee
Both regular and decaffeinated - and any products made from coffee, such as Kahlua, mocha desserts, coffee ice cream.Camphor and camphor products
Some lip balms & cough lozenges, Vick's Vaporub, tiger balm, BenGay, and other deep heat liniments.Mint and menthol in all its forms
These including mouthwash and toothpaste, gum, breathe mints, menthol cigarettes, and mint teas. This is especially important for anyone taking one of the "natrum" remedies.Strong essential oils & Aromatic fumes
Strong essential oils (such as eucalyptus, tea tree, & pennyroyal) and aromatic fumes (paint, ammonia, hair permanents, moth balls, etc.) should also be avoided. Are Homeopathic remedies safe?
